Press the Light button multiple times to cycle through brightness levels (low, medium-high, and off); press the Fan button to cycle through power settings (low, medium, high, and off); the Off button turns off both the fan and the light. The remote control comes with a mount that you can install on vertical surfaces (installation hardware included).
