Christian Dell
Born 1893, Died 1974 (Germany)
Christian Dell began his career as an apprentice in a silversmith's workshop and became a central figure in developing the functional and minimalist aesthetic associated with the Bauhaus movement. He led the metalworking section at the design academy, teaching the principles of functional and minimalist design to aspiring designers. While best known for his Kaiser Idell series, his portfolio also included lamps, jewelry, and metal artworks that perfectly combined utility with artistic innovation. In the final years of his career, he began exploring innovations in early plastic technologies.
